Feature: All the Olympics logos from 1896 to 2012

The upcoming Beijing Olympics are steadily aproaching, with just a few days left until the much anticipated kick off. To celebrate the forthcoming fiesta we’ve decided to do something of a retrospective of all the previous events by gathering round all of the Olympics logo, from the first edition in 1896, to the present day 2008 Beijing one, to the upcoming London 2012 Olympics. Thanks to Gurlz Group, a popular Yahoo Group.

No winter olympics logos?
Cool post. My favorites are the ones that incorporate a lot of color into the theme, like the Seol Olympics and Sydney Olympics. Interesting to see all the emblems together.
great to see!! Any chance you can add the winter games, occuring since they split them off (i.e. Turin 2006, Salt Lake City 2002, 1998 Nagano, 1994 Lillehammar)

Yep - pretty much everyone in Britain hates the London 2012 logo. That’s what happens when a corporation comes up with the logo and doesn’t ask anyone else what they think.

What a neat idea! I remember the Olympics since 1988. I was married in 1996, we spent the first month of our marriage watching the Olympics! Totally missed the 2004 Olympics because we lived in Germany and our little TV didn’t have any cool Olympic channels like we have today! It’s in HD!

London’s logo is crap which is appropriate because London’s olympics are going to be crap. The country is bankrupt and most of us hate athletics anyway. London is full of drunken beggers, pickpockets & knife-carrying, drug-addicted muggers. We are also miserable b*stards who hate foreigners and wil kick your head in if you so much as look at us.
